Mystery/Thriller

Our first featured genre is the one that is normally on our stage at this time of year – the mystery/thriller! The mystery/thriller was once a theater staple - boasting some of the longest non-musical runs ever. In fact, Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap still reigns as the longest-running play in theater history.

Genre mousetrap

The Mousetrap, 2012

Our first mystery/thriller, in the “modern era,” debuted in 2012 when we produced Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap. The audience response and popularity of the production cemented a spot for this genre within our subsequent season lineups through today. Since then, more Agatha Christie favorites (And Then There Were None and Witness for the Prosecution), as well as other mystery/thrillers (Deathtrap, Misery, Sleuth, etc.), have taken center stage at our Hanna Theatre home – many setting attendance records. Check out photos from our suspenseful past productions as we look forward to our upcoming season’s mystery/thriller offering, Agatha Christie’s Black Coffee!
