The Fantasticks - 2016
Off-Broadway gives smaller, more experimental shows a place to thrive. While there ARE those shows that move on to Broadway, many productions find a home and loving audience Off-Broadway that gains them the popularity and recognition to live on in venues across the world. Specifically, Off-Broadway has provided the space for many revues, jukebox musicals, and smaller favorites, such as The Fantasticks, to entertain throngs of adoring audiences throughout the years. These musicals have proven just as popular with Great Lakes Theater audiences and have been sprinkled into our season since the 80s. Since 2016, an Off-Broadway musical has closed out our season in a big way as nostalgic favorites have taken that final slot in our lineup each season.
