Seeking Youth Actors for LES MISÉRABLES; Roles: Gavroche and Young Cosette

CALLING ALL YOUNG PERFORMERS

Great Lakes Theater seeks two young performers to join our professional company for Les Misérables, Victor Hugo's epic and deeply moving story of redemption, love, and revolution.

This is a unique opportunity for a curious, imaginative young performer to work in a professional, supportive rehearsal room.

AUDITION INFORMATION

Auditions will be held on Friday, September 18th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Young performers should be prepared to sing up to 16 bars of their favorite song a cappella and will be provided sides upon sign-up. They should be prepared to play, move and explore the room.

Rehearsals will begin on February 16th; with performance dates scheduled from March 12th through April 11th.

Auditions are by appointment only, and must be reserved by 5:00pm on Tuesday, September 15th. Appointment times will be confirmed via email within one week of reservation, no phone calls please. Eligibility

To participate in our youth company, all performers must be between the ages of 7 and 12 years of age. More information is listed below for each character. Gavroche Seeking: • Young performer, ages 9-12 • Male identifying • Open to all races and backgrounds • Brave, energetic, and full of spirit • Comfortable with text and movement; no extensive experience required About the Role: A brave and energetic boy who joins the student revolutionaries. He loves adventure and isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes in. Young Cosette Seeking: • Young performer, ages 7-11, under 5 feet tall • Female identifying • Open to all races and backgrounds • Kind, sensitive, and comfortable with text • No extensive experience required About the Role: A kind girl who is treated poorly by the Thénardiers. She becomes close with Valjean, who takes her in and cares for her like a daughter.
