DonateOur A Christmas Carol Pre-Show Choir and Ensemble Program has been part of our holiday tradition for 20 years. Free to all A Christmas Carol ticket-holders, these choir performances occur just prior to curtain. Since 2005, audiences have enjoyed sounds of the season from over 200 choirs.

Great Lakes Theater is seeking local choirs and ensembles to perform approximately 20-25 minutes of holiday selections before performances of A CHRISTMAS CAROL at the Mimi Ohio Theatre, Playhouse Square. Performances run between November 28th - December 21st, 2025
This community partnership lives in the nation’s second largest theater district. Choirs and ensembles of all backgrounds, ages, and experience levels are welcome to participate – from school ensembles, to church choirs, college and professional groups and beyond. No audition is required.
Groups may perform acapella or with their own keyboard/pianist.
Each performance will take place at the Mimi Ohio Theatre, welcoming and entertaining up to 1,000 guests as they enter. All participating performers and the program director each receive a complimentary ticket to enjoy the performance of A CHRISTMAS CAROL after they perform. Plus, we extend a special 50% OFF ticket discount to friends, family and fans of each choir or ensemble. Groups who take advantage of the discount will always get priority when choosing performance dates in the next season.

Thank you for your interest in performing before Great Lakes Theater's A Christmas Carol. We are excited to continue our community partnership with local choirs and ensembles of all backgrounds, ages, and experience levels.
*New this year, if your choir is more than 40 people we ask that you pick a date that falls during the first two weeks of the run of A Christmas Carol (November 28 - December 14th) or choose a Wednesday/Thursday/Friday of the remaining week (December 17th,18th or 19th)*

Great Lakes Theater Camp
Daily classes will be held at Brook Park Elementary School in a two-week session from Monday through Thursday, June 9 - 19, 2025 (no Fridays). The program is designed for students of all levels of experience and ability.
