Kelly Elliott (she/her/hers) has spent over two decades working in the theater.
She specializes in early modern English drama and her work as a director, combat choreographer, actor, producer, and educator has been seen in Northeast Ohio, Virginia, and Washington, DC. She earned her MLitt and MFA in Shakespeare and Performance from Mary Baldwin University where she had the opportunity to act and direct on a recreation of the Blackfriars Theatre.
Kelly co-created the play Kill Will, addressing all the deaths in Shakespeare in about an hour, which had its world premiere at Cleveland Public Theatre and performed at the Minnesota Fringe Festival. Her experience with Shakespeare also includes co-running the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival (1999-2001), teaching hundreds of children how to swing swords, working for Great Lakes Theater’s education department, playing the titular role in Macbeth, and getting a really good review as Bottom the Weaver in Brave Spirits Theatre’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Washington, DC).
