Production Internships

Production Internships are typically available from September through December and February through May. Days and hours may vary. A stipend will be provided. Housing and travel are generally not provided. Interns should have a strong interest and background in the arts and be able to work independently and as part of a team. To be eligible you must be a current or graduating college student.

• Scene Shop Intern

  Based on interest, interns will work along side carpenters, welders, electricians, props artisans, and painters in the Great Lakes Theater scene shop. A basic knowledge of carpentry and technical theatre is required.

  Eligibility:
  Current college student or graduate

  

• Costume Shop Internship

  Interns will work alongside drapers, first hands, stitchers, and wardrobe crew in the GLTF costume shop. Basic sewing skills are required.

  Current college student or graduate

  

• Production Internship

  Interns will work with stage management and production management on all aspects of the production process. Applicants must have proficient computer skills and an interest in pursuing a career in stage management or arts administration.

Other Internships

Other internships are also available through our Education and Marketing Departments. No stipends are currently available for these opportunities.

• Education Department Internships

  Interns will work with our education department to support aspects of our student matinee series, school residency program, Surround outreach programming or other departmental offerings.
  

  Eligibility:
  Current high school student or older

  

• Marketing and Promotions Internships

  Interns will assist our marketing and public relations staff with special events and promotions, communications efforts, guerilla marketing initiatives and provide departmental support as needed. Applicants must have proficient computer, communication and writing skills and be attentive to detail. A passion for the arts and a sense of humor is highly regarded.
