We are currently scheduling auditions for the following:
Great Lakes Theater announces auditions for non-Equity actor/teachers for its School Residency Program for the 2017-2018 school year. Actors of all cultural backgrounds are encouraged to audition. These are full-time, seasonal, paid positions, offered from August/September 2017 through May 2018. All auditions are by appointment only.
Applicants should prepare one Shakespearean monologue and one contrasting contemporary monologue for the audition. Both monologues should total no more than three minutes combined.
Auditions will take place on Monday May 8, 2017. Callbacks will take place on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 and are by invitation only. The deadline to register for an audition appointment is Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. Great Lakes Theater is an equal opportunity employer.
All applicants must be non-Equity actors. Additional requirements include an undergraduate degree in any discipline, as well as previous stage experience or actor training. Teaching experience or prior work with elementary, junior high or high school age students is a plus, but not required. Applicants must have a driver license and a reliable automobile. A background check will also be required.

Auditions will be held at Playhouse Square's Rehearsal Halls (1650 Chester Ave.).
Please prepare: 1. One brief Shakespeare monlogue and one brief contemporary monologue, or 2. Two brief Shakespeare monologues, or 3. One brief monologue and one short song selection.
Please bring sheet music in the correct key, accompanist provided but will not transpose. Please bring a stapled headshot and resume.
If you are uploading a resume and headshot file with your online application, please limit the file size of each document to 4M.
All actors are welcome to submit headshots and resumes at any time of the year. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the large number of submissions received, we cannot respond personally to your submissions. We also accept video auditions. If sending a video, please include a Shakespeare monologue, a contemporary piece and a song (if you sing.)
