We are currently scheduling auditions for the following:

  • Actor/Teachers (2015-16 School Year)

    Great Lakes Theater announces auditions for non-Equity actor/teachers for its School Residency Program for the 2015-2016 school year.
    Actors of all cultural backgrounds are encouraged to audition. These are full-time, seasonal, paid positions, offered from August/September 2015 through May 2016. All auditions are by appointment only.

    Applicants should prepare one Shakespearean monologue and one contrasting contemporary monologue for the audition.  Both monologues should total no more than three minutes combined.
    Auditions will take place on Monday May 11, 2015. Callbacks will take place on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 and are by invitation only. The deadline to register for an audition appointment is Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. Great Lakes Theater is an equal opportunity employer.

    All applicants must be non-Equity actors. Additional requirements include an undergraduate degree in any discipline, as well as previous stage experience or actor training. Teaching experience or prior work with elementary, junior high or high school age students is a plus, but not required. Applicants must have a driver license and a reliable automobile.

  • Seeking Child Actors for "A Christmas Carol"

    Great Lakes Theater (GLT) is seeking child actors of all cultures and backgrounds, ages seven to thirteen, for our annual production of A Christmas Carol.  

    Auditions will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Playhouse Square Rehearsal Halls, 1650 Chester Ave.

    Rehearsals will begin on November 10th; with performance dates scheduled from November 24th through December 23rd, 2014.

    Children auditioning should bring a headshot and resume and should be prepared to sing up to 16 bars of their favorite song and may be asked to read from the script.

    Ages 7-13. Children auditioning for A Christmas Carol may not be fourteen years of age until December 24, 2015 or later. Must be available for all matinee and evening performances.
