We are currently scheduling auditions for the following:
Great Lakes Theater announces auditions for non-Equity actor/teachers for its School Residency Program for the 2015-2016 school year. Actors of all cultural backgrounds are encouraged to audition. These are full-time, seasonal, paid positions, offered from August/September 2015 through May 2016. All auditions are by appointment only.
Applicants should prepare one Shakespearean monologue and one contrasting contemporary monologue for the audition. Both monologues should total no more than three minutes combined.
Auditions will take place on Monday May 11, 2015. Callbacks will take place on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 and are by invitation only. The deadline to register for an audition appointment is Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. Great Lakes Theater is an equal opportunity employer.
All applicants must be non-Equity actors. Additional requirements include an undergraduate degree in any discipline, as well as previous stage experience or actor training. Teaching experience or prior work with elementary, junior high or high school age students is a plus, but not required. Applicants must have a driver license and a reliable automobile.

Great Lakes Theater (GLT) and Idaho Shakespeare Festival (ISF) are seeking child actors of all cultures and backgrounds, for the Idaho Shakespeare Festival’s Summer 2015 production and Great Lakes Theater’s Fall 2015 production of The Secret Garden. Children cast must commit to both summer and fall dates.
Rehearsals at Idaho Shakespeare Festival in Boise, Idaho will begin on June 9th, with performance dates scheduled from July 5th through August 30th. The Secret Garden will play in repertory. Travel and accommodations will be provided for the Idaho Shakespeare Festival engagement.
Rehearsals at Great Lakes Theater will begin on or about September 11th, with performance dates scheduled from September 25th through October 31st. The Secret Garden will play in repertory.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, February 8th, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Playhouse Square Rehearsal Halls (1650 Chester Ave). Auditions are by appointment only. Callbacks will be held from 6:00 – 7:00pm. Appointment times must be reserved by 5:00pm on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. All Appointments will be confirmed via email.
Children auditioning should bring a headshot and resume. Audition music from The Secret Garden will be provided when appointments are confirmed. Children may also be asked to read from the script. Children auditioning should not use accents for either role.

Mary Lennox (9 – 12): Mary is a precocious 10-year-old girl sent to live with her Uncle Archibald after her parents die from cholera in India. She is bright, curious and often finds herself in trouble; she fights for what she believes in.
Colin Craven (9 – 12): Archibald's 10-year-old bedridden son. He is very stubborn and throws tantrums; he appears spoiled but is truly very lonely. Colin is a true boy soprano.
