Auditions

We are currently scheduling auditions for the following:

• Actor/Teachers (2012-13 School Year)

  
  Great Lakes Theater announces auditions for non-Equity actor/teachers for its School Residency Program for the 2012-2013 school year. Actors of all cultural backgrounds are encouraged to audition. These are full-time, seasonal, paid positions, offered from September 2012 through May 2013. All auditions are by appointment only.
  
  Applicants should prepare one Shakespearean monologue and one contrasting contemporary monologue for the audition.  Both monologues should total no more than three minutes combined.
   
  Auditions will take place on Monday May 14, 2012. Callbacks will take place on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 and are by invitation only. The deadline to register for an audition appointment is Friday, May 11, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. Great Lakes Theater is an equal opportunity employer.

  Eligibility:
  All applicants must be non-Equity actors. Additional requirements include an undergraduate degree in any discipline, as well as previous stage experience or actor training. Teaching experience or prior work with elementary, junior high or high school age students is a plus, but not required. Applicants must have access to a reliable automobile.

• Seeking Child Actor for Shakespeare's "The Winter's Tale"

  
  Great Lakes Theater (GLT) is seeking a male, child actor of any culture or background, aged seven to thirteen, to portray the character Mamillius in the company’s fall 2012 production of William Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale. Rehearsals begin on September 14th, with performance dates scheduled from September 28th through November 4th. The production’s run includes evening and student matinees during the week. Two young actors will be cast to split the role’s performance commitments.
  
  Auditions will be held on Saturday, May 5th (10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.) at PlayhouseSquare's RED Rehearsal Hall (1650 Chester Ave). Auditions are by appointment only. Appointment times will be confirmed via email.
  

  Eligibility:
  Children (ages 7-13) auditioning should bring a headshot and resume and should be prepared to sing up to 16 bars of their favorite song and read from the script.

• Local AEA Auditions for 2012-2013 Season

  
  Monday, May 7th 9am-5pm
  Tuesday, May 8th 9am-5pm
    
  Auditions will be held at PlayhouseSquare's Rehearsal Halls (1650 Chester Ave.).  
  
  Please prepare: One Shakespeare monlogue and one contemporary monologue or one brief monologue and 16 bars of song. Total audition should not exceed 90 seconds.  Accompanist provided.  Appointment times will be confirmed via email. Please bring  a headshot and resume stapled together.
