We are currently scheduling auditions for the following:
Great Lakes Theater announces auditions for non-Equity actor/teachers for its School Residency Program for the 2016-2017 school year. Actors of all cultural backgrounds are encouraged to audition. These are full-time, seasonal, paid positions, offered from August/September 2016 through May 2017. All auditions are by appointment only.
Applicants should prepare one Shakespearean monologue and one contrasting contemporary monologue for the audition. Both monologues should total no more than three minutes combined.
Auditions will take place on Monday May 9, 2016. Callbacks will take place on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 and are by invitation only. The deadline to register for an audition appointment is Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. Great Lakes Theater is an equal opportunity employer.
All applicants must be non-Equity actors. Additional requirements include an undergraduate degree in any discipline, as well as previous stage experience or actor training. Teaching experience or prior work with elementary, junior high or high school age students is a plus, but not required. Applicants must have a driver license and a reliable automobile. A background check will also be required.

Great Lakes Theater (GLT) is seeking child actors of all cultures and backgrounds for roles in our 2016-2017 season.
A Christmas Carol
Children should be between the ages of seven to thirteen. They should be prepared to sing up to 16 bars of their favorite song and may be asked to read from the script. Rehearsals will begin on November 8th; with performance dates scheduled from November 22nd through December 23rd. Children auditioning for A Christmas Carol may not be fourteen years of age until December 24, 2016 or later.
Wait Until Dark
Seeking girls between the ages of nine to thirteen for the role of Gloria (a young looking, smart, strong, and somewhat precocious child.) Audition material for children auditioning for Wait Until Dark will be provided when appointments are confirmed. Wait Until Dark will begin it’s run in 2017 at Great Lakes Theater, then continue on to Idaho Shakespeare Festival for a run in the summer of 2017. Child cast may be asked to commit to full run at both companies. Rehearsals will begin at GLT on January 24th, 2017, with performance dates scheduled from February 17th – March 12th, 2017. Rehearsals will begin at ISF on May 16th, with performance dates scheduled from May 26th – July 30th, 2017.
Auditions will be held on Monday, September 12th, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Playhouse Square Rehearsal Halls (1650 Chester Ave).
Auditions are by appointment only, and must be reserved by 5:00pm on Thursday, September 8th. Please indicate if the child will be auditioning for A Christmas Carol, Wait Until Dark, or both. Appointments times will be confirmed via email, no phone calls please. Children auditioning should bring a headshot and resume.
