Reasons to Donate:

  • One pint of blood, which contains red blood cells, platelets and plasma, has the potential to help more than one patient.
  •  A blood donor can safely give whole blood every 56 days.
  •  The Red Cross needs to collect about 12,500 blood donations and nearly 3,000 platelet donations every day for hospital patients.
  •  Every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood.
  •  Every 15 seconds someone in the U.S. needs platelets.
  •  Nearly half of donated platelets go to cancer patients.
  •  To give blood you must be at least 17 years old, (16 with parental consent) meet height and weight requirements and be in generally good health
  •  Accident and burn victims, heart surgery patients, organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease may all need blood.
  •  Only 3 out of 100 Americans donate blood.
  •  Type O negative is the universal blood type. It’s always in high demand and often short supply since only about 7 percent of the population has this type.
  •  One out of 10 people admitted to the hospital needs blood.
  •  Nearly 5 million people need blood transfusions each year.
  •  The American Red Cross collects about 40 percent of the blood needed each year in the United States.
  •  There are four main blood groups A, B, AB and O and each group has a positive or negative Rh type.
  •  A person with sickle cell disease may need up to 100 units of blood each year to treat complications from the disease.
Draculawithdates

About the show:

By Le Navet Bete and John Nicholson
Directed by Charles Fee

With four spirited actors playing forty characters, this breakneck adaptation takes you from spooky Transylvania to the charming English coast. A wild, zany, (almost) authentic adaptation that provides a spooktacular evening full of campy horror fun!
