Great Lakes Theater (GLT) will launch the world premiere of THE GREAT GLOBE ITSELF, a free touring production scheduled to visit twenty-seven neighborhood venues throughoutnortheast Ohio, to kick off the company’s 2015 series of Surround outreach programming. The one-act play is written and directed by David Hansen, GLT Education Outreach Associate, and features a touring company of three actors. The tour commences on March 3rd, continues through April 2nd and is designed to support Great Lakes Theater’s upcoming mainstage production of The Tempest at the Hanna Theatre, PlayhouseSquare which opens in April. All performances of the touring production are free and open to the public, with the exception of performances at area schools, which are private.

CLEVELAND, OH (September 2, 2014) - Great Lakes Theater (GLT) will commence its 2014-15 season at the Hanna Theatre, PlayhouseSquare with a Fall Repertory that features William Shakespeare’s uproarious battle of the sexes, The Merry Wives of Windsor and a new production of Boublil and Schönberg’s Tony Award-winning musical epic, Les Misérables. CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) will present its fifteenth annual All-City Musical, RENT to crown the District’s 2013-14 series of All-City Arts Programming. Don Bernardo joins the company’s six-member management team.
CLEVELAND, OH – Great Lakes Theater (GLT), Cleveland’s professional classic theater company, announced the appointment of Don Bernardo as the company’s new director of development today. As the head of GLT’s development department, Bernardo will oversee all individual, corporate and foundation fundraising efforts for the organization. Approximately $2M of the company’s $3.7M annual operating budget is generated from contributed income sources each season.

CLEVELAND, OH - Great Lakes Theater, Cleveland’s Classic Company will present a pair of summer drama camps for students (ages 4-18) this summer in partnership with Berea High School and Laurel School.
CAMP THEATER! is a summer theater camp for students ages 4-18 at Berea-Midpark High School (June 9-20, 2014) that immerses students in interactive and educational theater-based activities. CAMP THEATER! is a unique opportunity for students to work with and learn from Great Lakes Theater’s professional teaching artists in a fun, safe and supportive environment.
