Great Lakes Theater (GLT) will launch the world premiere of DOUBLE HEART: The Courtship of Beatrice and Benedick, a free hour-long touring production scheduled to visit twenty-one neighborhood venues throughout northeast Ohio, to kick off the company’s 2013 series of Surround outreach programming. The play, an imagined prequel to Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, is written in poetic verse by NE Ohio playwright and Supervisor of GLT’s School Residency Program, David Hansen, and features a touring company of four actors directed by Lisa Ortenzi. The tour commences on February 12th, continues through March 7th and is designed to support Great Lakes Theater’s upcoming mainstage production of Much Ado About Nothing...

CLEVELAND, OH - The stage of the Ohio Theatre, PlayhouseSquare will glow with good spirits and time-honored tradition when Great Lakes Theater (GLT) presents its annual production of Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol, running November 30 – December 23, 2012. The production has delighted more than 600,000 people in its history, making it one of northeast Ohio’s most-loved and best-attended holiday events.
Great Lakes Theater’s twenty-fourth annual production of A Christmas Carol is sponsored by The John P. Murphy Foundation. The company’s 2012-13 season is generously funded by the citizens of Cuyahoga County through Cuyahoga Arts and Culture. GLT also receives support from The Cleveland Foundation and the Ohio Arts Council.

THE WINTER’S TALE and THE IMAGINARY INVALID kick off Great Lakes Theater’s 51st season in rotating repertory at the Hanna Theatre.
CLEVELAND, OH (August 28, 2012) - Great Lakes Theater (GLT) will commence its 2012-13 season at the Hanna Theatre, PlayhouseSquare, with a Fall Repertory that features William Shakespeare’s epic of romance and renewal, The Winter’s Tale and a 60s-inspired, music -infused adaptation of Molière’s comic classic, The Imaginary Invalid. CLEVELAND, OH – Charles Fee, Producing Artistic Director of Great Lakes Theater (GLT), unveiled an ambitious, six-production array of classics to headline the company’s 2012-13 season. CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) will present its thirteenth annual All-City Musical, Footloose to crown the District’s 2011-12 series of All-City Arts Programming. The production features the talents of over fifty CMSD students from across the District and will take place on the stage of the Ohio Theatre at PlayhouseSquare, June 1 - 3, 2012.
