Great Lakes Theater, Cleveland’s professional classic theater company, seeks a dynamic professional for its fast-paced development office located in Downtown Cleveland’s PlayhouseSquare. Key responsibilities include design, implementation and management of all fundraising activities including annual giving, corporate initiatives, gala and other special events, grant writing and foundation relationships, endowment and planned giving efforts, and special projects. A central member of the senior staff, this person will participate fully in the life of the theater, and must have the ability to thrive in a team environment while also working independently to plan, coordinate and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. The successful candidate will have a college degree and a background of at least five years in fundraising, with a demonstrated history of increased responsibilities and success in meeting fundraising goals. Strong written and oral communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills are essential, along with well-developed computer skills and proficiency in the use and maximization of database/fundraising/prospect research software such as Raiser’s Edge and WealthEngine.
