A Perfect Partnership of Arts and Education
Each year, the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD), in partnership with Great Lakes Theater (lead producing partner since 2000), The Human Fund, The Musical Theater Project and PlayhouseSquare, collaborates with Cleveland students, their teachers and professional theater artists working together - both on stage and behind the scenes - to create the All-City Musical. The production features the talents of over fifty CMSD students from across the District and takes place on the stage of the Ohio Theatre each spring.
"The All-City Musical is an enriching experience for the students involved in the production," according to Tony Sias, CMSD Director of Arts Education and the director of the production for the tenth consecutive year.
"The All-City Musical is an extraordinary program that provides students with a structured arts-based experience that refines individual talents, stimulates critical thinking, focuses creativity, strengthens social skills and affords students an informed perspective on the world. These young people are amazing."
